Touré Owen
Co-founder, Colorwave
Touré is an entrepreneur passionate about creating pathways to economic empowerment in communities of color. After spending the first three years of his career at Google, Touré left to launch Trimmed, an app powered barbershop on wheels designed to revitalize the Black barbershop. While operating Trimmed, Touré recognized the gaps in his own knowledge relating to financial and social capital. This gap inspired him to co-found Colorwave, a 501c3 committed to closing the racial wealth gap by connecting Black, Latinx, and Native professionals to opportunities at venture-backed startups before they scale. While building Colorwave, Touré is concurrently an MBA 1 at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. As a Social Innovator in Residence, Touré hopes to leverage the network, resources, and coaching of the Concrete Rose Network to develop Colorwave into a household name that provides economic opportunity to thousands of professionals of color nationwide.
